Marked is an advanced Markdown preview application with powerful tools to improve your writing and speed up your workflow. It watches your file for changes, updating the preview every time you save to let you see what you're working on while you concentrate on the important part: writing.
Click the "Quick Config" button below to enable some default options based on your needs.
The easiest way to use Marked is to drag a document to the Marked icon in your Dock. Open the same document in your editor and in Marked at the same time.
You can also use File > Open. Once you set your Settings, you can also use Marked to open the current file in your editor of choice with Cmd+Shift+E.
The Preview window will open automatically. It updates every time you save your document.
This allows you to type without distraction, but to see an instant preview of your document when you hit a resting point. In applications that automatically save in the background, the Preview will be updated at save intervals as you type.
In the lower left of the window, you'll see a dropdown where you can select a style for the preview. The style you choose will also be applied to print and export formats.
Marked even lets you add your own styles using basic CSS. A skeleton stylesheet is automatically generated when you first run Marked, and you can locate it in the Settings > Style panel.
The main tools, including buttons for Table of Contents, Keyword Highlighting, and Export are located in the bottom bar of each preview window. Use the gear icon on the right side for quick access to the the full array of Marked's features.

Open up Marked > Settings to see the full scope of additional customization options available.
The Export button will open a palette offering an array of export formats.
You can also use ⌘⇧C to instantly copy HTML source to your clipboard.
Marked has many additional features, including advanced document statistics, the ability to float above other applications, and dim in the background. Marked even works with multi-file book formats and Scrivener documents. Explore the documentation under the Help menu!
