# OmniOutliner and OPML

Any OPML outline [OmniOutliner][oo] exports can be dragged into Marked just like Markdown. Marked converts the outline into readable Markdown headings and nested lists based on OmniOutliner (or generic OPML) structure.

In Marked Settings > Preview pane, separate switches control **embedding OPML outlines** and **OmniOutliner (.ooutline) packages** as **Mermaid mind maps** versus a straight nested Markdown list when you prefer the diagram view.

Separate from OmniOutliner, generic `.opml` files from tools such as Fargo, OutlineEdit, iThoughts (OPML export), or mind-map apps behave the same way.
