Live Markdown Preview on Mac
Marked 3 is a native macOS app that watches your Markdown files and updates a live preview as you save. It is a preview and publishing tool—not a Markdown editor—so you keep writing in VS Code, Obsidian, Scrivener, Bear, Ulysses, Word, or any text editor.

What Marked does
- Watches files on disk and re-renders on save (or via streaming preview in supported apps)
- Provides themeable HTML preview, proofreading, and export to PDF, DOCX, EPUB, HTML, and more
- Includes a built-in Markdown Dingus with editing features for quick corrections and testing syntax—not intended to replace a good text editor, but helpful for fixes without switching apps
- Does not replace your primary writing app
Three ways to preview
-
Open a file — Drag a
.mdfile onto Marked (Dock icon or window). See Opening Files. - Watch a folder or vault — Drag a project folder or Obsidian vault onto Marked. See Obsidian, Multi-File Documents.
- Streaming preview — Supported editors push Markdown to Marked as you type. See Streaming Preview.
